A senior police officer mentioned that officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday arrested Robiul Islam from Goalpara district. Islam is believed to be the mastermind of the misappropriation of funds and was concerned with a big quantity of colleges in submitting fraudulent purposes for scholarships and withdrawal of scholarship funds.
Of the 26 accused, there are 4 headmasters, a trainer, three house owners of Customer Service Point (CSP) of nationalised banks, president of a faculty administration committee, two digital knowledge processors and 10 middlemen.
They have been arrested over the previous one week for allegedly misappropriating pre-matric scholarship funds for poor minority college students value about Rs 10 crore.
According to the police officer, CID groups are conducting raids in completely different districts to arrest the remaining accused in the siphoning off of the scholarship funds.
The CID sleuths have to this point seized three laptops, 217 college students’ pictures, 104 college students’ certificates, 173 pre-matric scholarship kinds and 11 financial institution passbooks.
