Langer said Smith was “monitoring in the fitting course” ahead of the decider.

“I do not suppose there is a psychological fragility,” he said. “These issues occur. The hardest factor in cricket is hitting the profitable runs. We have been chasing below lights on a worn wicket. It was difficult and we weren’t as much as the problem.
“We’ve got a very good team and are showing in most of the cricket we are playing that we are up to the fight. I don’t think they (the defeats) are linked at all.”
