Bamako, Mali:
Mutineering troopers in Mali on Tuesday detained President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and Prime Minister Boubou Cisse, one among their leaders stated.
“We can tell you that the president and the prime minister are under our control,” the chief, who requested anonymity, informed AFP.
He added that the pair had been “arrested” at Keita’s residence within the capital Bamako.
Earlier, troopers launched a mutiny from the close by garrison city of Kati.
Another army official, who additionally declined to be named, stated the president and prime minister had been in an armoured car en path to Kati.
