Amid fierce protests over the controversial farm payments, the monsoon session of parliament could conclude right this moment, eight days forward of schedule because the opposition boycotted proceedings in each homes. The monsoon session began earlier on September 14, 5 months after parliament was adjourned over the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The abrupt conclusion of the session comes amid an uproar over the federal government’s big-ticket farm payments, which had been handed by the Rajya Sabha on Sunday.
Yesterday, seven payments had been handed in Rajya Sabha even because the Congress, Left events, the TMC, the Samajwadi Party and the NCP determined to boycott House proceedings in protest in opposition to the suspension of eight MPs for the rest of the session for unruly behaviour.
