A teenage woman was attacked with a pointy weapon by two motorcycle-borne thieves who tried to grab her cell phone however she managed to drag down one among them off the bike, CCTV footage from Punjab reveals.
Kusum Kumari, 15, was returning house from tuition when the incident occurred close to Jalandhar-Kapurthala highway on Monday.
“The man riding pillion grabbed my hand and took my phone. I resisted and held his hand after which I followed them on their bike and grabbed the pillion rider’s t-shirt. He later hit me and attacked my wrist with a sharp object,”
The woman, now injured, didn’t again down. She ran after the bike and dragged the pillion rider, who snatched her cell phone, off it.
Passersby helped the teenager someday later and obtained maintain of the accused and handed him over to the police. Ms Kumari obtained again her telephone quickly after. The teen has been admitted to a hospital.
Station House Officer Jatinder Sharma mentioned that the accused has been recognized as Avinash Kumar, 22, and has been arrested. His confederate, who was driving the bike, is on the run and a case underneath Sections 389 B and 307 (try and homicide) of IPC has been registered towards them.
