The University Grants Commission has allowed North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) to hold its remaining semester examinations and declare outcomes in October, as a substitute of September, following a request in this regard by the Meghalaya authorities, a state minister mentioned on Thursday.
The UGC has agreed to the proposal of the state authorities for finishing remaining semester examination in Meghalaya by October 16, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui mentioned on Thursday.
“NEHU will conduct exam as proposed on 7, 9, 12, 14 & 16 October 2020. Results will be declared by the end of October 2020. University will issue routine accordingly,” he tweeted.
Most of the universities in Meghalaya are affiliated to NEHU.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the UGC issued a revised guideline on examinations and educational calendar asking universities in the nation to full the ultimate semester examinations by the top of September.

The UGC has decided to accede to your request. Accordingly, the final year/terminal semester examinations in colleges & universities in the State of Meghalaya be completed by 16.10.2020,” the UGC mentioned in a letter.
The minister connected the UGCs letter written to the states principal secretary of the schooling division to his tweet.
