The flood scenario in Bihar has worsened after steady heavy rain within the state for the previous few days. Seven individuals have died due flood-related incidents thus far and over 10.6 lakh within the state are affected. Large swathes of land are underneath flood waters. Helicopters of the Indian Air Force have been deployed within the worst affected districts of Darbhanga, East and West Champaran, Madhubani and Gopalganj to drop meals, ingesting water and different reduction materials.
According to the Bihar catastrophe administration division, 22 groups of the State and National Disaster Response Force have been deployed in West and East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, and Khagaria. Several rivers such because the Baghmati, Burhi Gandak, Kamlabalan, Lalbakeya, Adhwara, Khiroi, Mahananda and Ghaghra are in spate inflicting intensive flooding.

Over 35 individuals in East Champaran district had a slim escape after the engine of their boat malfunctioned throughout rescue operations. Rescuers of NDRF seen that the boat was caught on the swollen Gandak river. Guided by senior NDRF personnel, the group was taken to security. Commandant Vijay Sinha of 9 Battalion, NDRF mentioned, the boat’s engine had failed and the individuals onboard in some way managed to put it aside from drowning with the assistance of a tree for greater than two hours.
