About 10,000 girls are going to benefit beneath ‘Girls4Tech’ programme, which is being applied in 100 authorities colleges in three districts of Jammu area, an official spokesperson mentioned.
The Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ) in collaboration with the American India Foundation (AIF) goes to implement the programme in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts, he mentioned.
He mentioned it’s an award-winning schooling programme geared toward creating ‘problem solvers’ and enabling the scholars to uncover a variety of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers, similar to fraud detective, information scientist and software program engineer.
“This will enhance the pathway not only to STEM, but to a promising future for girls,” the spokesperson mentioned.

“Under this programme, AIF will hold online training sessions for girls, as well as provide relevant teaching-learning materials to teachers and schools,” the spokesperson mentioned.
He mentioned via its schooling interventions, AIF works with youngsters learning in Grades 6 to 10 and strives to create an efficient and built-in STEM studying atmosphere.
“Encouraging cooperation and collaboration among students, the intervention also builds the capacity of government school teachers on STEM, use of technology and Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) for enhancing learning outcomes of children,” the spokesperson mentioned.

He mentioned the initiative could be supervised by the Counselling Cell of the Directorate of School Education Jammu.
Elaborating on the initiative, Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta mentioned girls’ participation and consciousness in STEM-related careers in India is just not up to the mark and with the fast-moving financial system, it can be crucial to present equal entry to girls in high quality schooling in any respect ranges.
“Career and vocational guidance integrated with the STEM approach can go a long way in attaining this objective,” she mentioned.
