Landslides triggered by torrential rain swept by way of two villages in Nepal on Sunday, killing no less than 12 folks, a authorities official mentioned.
Ten folks had been killed and 21 are lacking after a large landslide swept away properties and folks in Barahbise, 100 km east of Kathmandu close to the border with the Tibet area of China, Nepali authorities official Murari Wasti mentioned.
Two others died in a landslide in Baglung within the northwest.
Both landslides struck the villages earlier than daybreak and folks couldn’t escape to security, rescuers mentioned.
“Rescuers are looking for those who are missing,” Wasti instructed Reuters.
The newest fatalities took the deaths from landslides and flash floods within the June-September monsoon season to 314. At least 111 folks stay lacking and 160 have been injured, Mr Wasti mentioned.
