At least 168 universities are both unwilling or uncertain to conduct the necessary final year or final semester exams, outlines the knowledge submitted to the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The apex training regulator, that features beneath the Union human assets improvement (HRD) ministry, had sought a response from the universities on the standing of examination schedule, after it issued revised tips on conduct of exams on 6 July.
A complete of 755 universities furnished their response, of which 274 have been non-public universities, 40 central, 321 state-run and 120 deemed universities. Of these, 560 universities have both carried out or are planning to conduct the examination. Besides, the primary batches of 27 new non-public universities, that got here up final year, are but to change into eligible for final exams.
