Inmates clang utensils to scare away a swarm of locusts that entered Firozabad District Jail on Friday.
In a video of the incident, 10 to 11 convicts are seen attempting to guard the crops sowed on land owned by the jail.

Around 1,700 inmates are lodged in Firozabad Jail, which spans throughout 7 acres of land.
Jail Superintendent Akram Khan stated that had inmates not began clanging utensils, the swarms of locusts would have broken the greens and fruits crop.
In the final week of June, swarms of locusts have invaded a number of districts of Uttar Pradesh, together with Deoria, attacking bushes and crops.
The UP Agriculture Department stated studies of locust assaults have been obtained from Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Allahabad, Pratapgarh, Bhadohi, Azamgarh and Ambedkar Nagar. He stated authorities of the neighbouring districts – Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Sultanpur, Mau and Ballia – have been requested to stay alert.
Swarms of locusts which have crossed over to India from neighbouring Pakistan have been inflicting havoc in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh ravaging standing crops for over a month now.
India is dealing with its worst locust assault lately. The desert locust is a species of locust, a swarming short-horned grasshopper, and poses an unprecedented risk to the meals provide and livelihoods of thousands and thousands of individuals.
