About 45 days since a broken gasoline nicely blew out in Assam’s Baghjan, about 500 kilometres from Guwahati, the state-owned Oil India Limited (OIL) mentioned it was assured of starting the “main works” for controlling the fireplace within the subsequent few days.

An environmental impact evaluation is in progress and a damage-assessment survey has discovered 1,383 families affected by the fireplace.
Closure of 4 gasoline wells, eight oil wells in Baghjan and one nicely in Dhakuwal due to protests by locals after the fireplace has resulted in a cumulative lack of 3,016 metric tonnes of crude oil and 10.07 million metric commonplace cubic meters of pure gasoline.
