Of the 1.26 crore households, simply 21.92 lakh households have piped drinking water provide.
As many as 79,395 rural settlements in 12,525 village panchayats in 388 panchayat unions of 36 districts will profit from the mission to present piped drinking water provide by the Centre. Over 99.11% of rural settlements have piped water provide in the State.
The Centre has proposed to spend ₹921 crore in the direction of improvement of piped drinking water provide amenities in the State in 2020-2021.
As many as 6.1 lakh households in rural areas have acquired piped drinking water provide in the State in 2020-2021, attaining 18.2% of the goal. The State has been ranked sixth this 12 months, mentioned Mr. Velumani.
The State authorities has floated tender for 15,120 works for improvement of infrastructure for offering piped drinking water provide to homes this 12 months. The work might be accomplished in February 2021.
An motion plan for 12,525 village panchayats to present piped drinking water has been readied. Collectors have been empowered to get administrative sanction for the mission.
