Apple has no curiosity in buying TikTok, the corporate stated on Tuesday, denying a report by information web site Axios from earlier in the day.
Axios, citing sources outdoors of Apple, earlier reported the iPhone maker has expressed curiosity in shopping for the ByteDance-owned agency.
Microsoft is at present negotiating a deal to amass the favored short-video app, with a 45-day deadline imposed by President Donald Trump’s administration.
Last week, Trump stated he was planning to ban TikTok amid considerations its Chinese possession represents a nationwide safety danger due to the private information it handles.
Separately, White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany informed reporters at a briefing on Tuesday that the United States will take motion in coming days on the favored short-video app TikTok and different Chinese apps, however gave no different particulars.
“He and Secretary (of State) Pompeo have said the US will take action in coming days on Chinese apps including TikTok due to the national security risk,” she stated.
