Chinese synthetic intelligence firm Shanghai Zhizhen Intelligent Network Technology, also referred to as Xiao-i, has filed a lawsuit in opposition to Apple, alleging it has infringed on its patents.
The firm is asking for CNY 10 billion (roughly Rs. 10,770 crores) in damages and calls for that Apple stop “manufacturing, using, promising to sell, selling, and importing” merchandise that infringe on the patent, it mentioned in a social media publish.
In the lawsuit filed in a neighborhood Chinese courtroom, Xiao-i argued that Apple’s voice-recognition expertise Siri infringes on a patent that it utilized for in 2004 and was granted in 2009.
In an announcement, Apple mentioned that its Siri doesn’t comprise options included within the Xiao-i patent, which the iPhone maker argues pertains to video games and instantaneous messaging.
