The our bodies of the pilot and co-pilot of the Air India Express (AIE) flight that crashed whereas trying to land on the Karipur airport in Kerala’s Kozhikode, have been handed over to their households on Saturday.
The kinfolk got here with the airline officers and the stays have been taken to Ernakulam to be taken to their respective native locations, Malappuram District Collector Ok Gopalakrishnan informed PTI.
“The bodies have been handed over to their families who came with AIE officials around 5 pm and as I understand they have moved to Cochin for onward journey to their respective destinations,” Mr Gopalakrishnan, who coordinated the rescue operations, stated.
The Air India Express crash final night time left 18 individuals lifeless and 172 injured, some critically.
Captain Deepak Vasanth Sathe and First Officer Akilesh Kumar, have been answerable for the plane.
Kozhikode district collector S Sambasiva Rao informed PTI that the our bodies have been embalmed after conducting autopsy on the Medical College hospital in Kozhikode and have been handed over to the households by night.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Captain Sathe was a Wing Commander within the Indian Air Force earlier than he joined business plane flying.
A resident of Mumbai’s Powai, Captain Sathe is survived by his spouse and two sons.
His father Colonel Vasath Sathe and mom Neela keep in Nagpur.
A local of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Akilesh Kumar is survived by his spouse Megha whom he married in 2017.
He can be survived by two youthful brothers, sister and his mother and father.
