UGC on Thursay knowledgeable the Supreme Court that the Academic Calendar has been finalised in keeping with which admissions will shut by October 31 and time for provisional admissions will proceed even after that date.
The bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Sanjeev Khanna recorded this submission of CBSE and UGC and disposed the 2 PILs filed by college students Shivam Kumar and Anika Samvedi demanding lodging of practically 2 lakh college students who in any other case would miss out on faculty admissions if CBSE delays announcement of results.
The Court had final week directed each CBSE and UGC to work a manner out because it noticed, “career of 2 lakh students is not a small matter. Their career will be affected for an entire year if CBSE delays results beyond the closing date of admissions for this year.” The SC bench was listening to two PILs filed by one Anika Samvedi and Shivam Kumar. The first petiton sought postponement of compartment exams as a consequence of Covid-19 scenario. The different plea solely requested SC to make sure the profession of the scholars doesn’t undergo as a consequence of late announcement of results by the board.
