On-field umpire Richard Kettleborough, who’s at present officiating within the second Test between England and Pakistan, has been spoken to by the International Cricket Council‘s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) after popping out to the sector carrying a smartwatch. The umpire was seen carrying the watch through the first session of the second Test between England and Pakistan, ESPNCricinfo reported. As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, the umpire had realised his error and he instantly took off his watch and reported the incident to the ACU, which thought of the incident a minor violation of the rules.
They then spoke to the umpire and reminded him of his obligations underneath the Player and Match Officials Area Regulations (PMOA).
In order to fight corruption within the sport, gamers and officers are obliged at hand over their telephones and every other transmitting units to anti-corruption officers forward of the beginning of play.
