The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday introduced that the upcoming girls’s home 50-over competitors might be named the “Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy” in honour of England’s pioneering World Cup-winning captain. The special-edition competitors has been created for this summer season solely to make sure girls’s home cricket is performed regardless of the challenges of COVID-19. The competitors will start on the August Bank Holiday weekend and it’ll function eight groups from the brand new elite home construction taking part in in two regionalised teams of 4.
Each crew might be taking part in six group-stage matches with the highest crew in every group to progress to a ultimate to be staged on Saturday, 26 September.

Off the back of appointing the eight Regional Directors of Women’s Cricket and awarding Regional Retainers, we have worked closely with colleagues across the men’s domestic game to ensure we are able to stage domestic women’s cricket safely and at high-quality venues,” ECB’s Managing Director of Women’s Cricket, Clare Connor, stated in an official assertion.
