Government Sanctions 40-Day Overseas Training Camp For Vinesh Phogat And Her Team | Wrestling News

The central authorities has sanctioned a 40-day coaching camp for champion wrestler Vinesh Phogat alongside along with her private coach Woller Akos, sparring companion Priyanka Phogat and physiotherapist Poornima Raman Ngomdir for a complete price of Rs 15.51 lakh. The camp was sanctioned beneath the federal government’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). The camp will happen from December 28 to January 24 on the Vasas Sports Club in Budapest, Hungary and from January 24 to February 5 on the Olympic Training Centre in Szczryk in Poland.


The complete price contains airfare, native transportation, boarding and lodging prices and out of pocket allowance.

Vinesh is part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme and is a medal prospect on the Tokyo Games.

The coaching camp has been deliberate by Vinesh’s private coach Akos, giving her the chance to spar with many European wrestlers in her weight class and enhancing on her technical and tactical facets.

Vinesh is wanting ahead to the abroad coaching camp, saying, “As a wrestler, I need to know my level and getting to spar with good wrestlers will be very helpful in assessing where I stand.”

Vinesh has certified for the Tokyo Olympics scheduled for July-August 2021 within the ladies’s 53 kg occasion after profitable the bronze medal on the 2019 World Championships.


She was part of the nationwide camp for girls’s wrestlers that commenced in SAI Lucknow from October 2020.
