Keeping its dedication of exponentially rising daily COVID-19 exams, India has “crossed a significant milestone” of testing better than 10 lakh (1 million) samples in a day, taking the cumulative exams to better than 3.4 crore, Union Health Ministry said.
As has been reported from states and Union Territories which have pushed ahead with aggressive testing, there’s a commensurate decline inside the positivity value, the Health Ministry said.
“Although higher number of tests will initially lead to a rise in the positivity rate, it will eventually lower when combined with other measures such as prompt isolation, efficient tracking, and timely effective and clinical management,” the ministry said.
Of the entire of 10,23,836 samples examined on Friday, spherical 3.eight lakh samples had been examined by speedy antigen exams, sources instructed data aency PTI.
The cumulative exams carried out thus far have reached 3,44,91,073 of which spherical 28 per cent samples had been examined by speedy antigen exams, sources instructed data firm Press Trust of India.
“In a testament to the determined, focused, consistent and coordinated efforts of the Centre and the state and UT governments, India has conducted 1 million tests in a span of 24 hours. With 10,23,836 tests done on Friday, India has achieved its resolve to test 10 lakh samples daily,” the ministry said.
Combined with enhanced testing, protection decisions of the Centre, states and Union Territories have facilitated easy testing all through the nation. This has boosted the daily testing functionality, it said.
Enhanced diagnostic lab group has moreover led to this achievement, the ministry said, together with that as on date the nation has a robust group of 1,511 labs, comprising 983 inside the authorities sector and 528 private labs.
With a report single-day spike of 69,874 infections, India’s COVID-19 case tally elevated to 29,75,701, whereas the number of deaths climbed to 55,794 with 945 fatalities being reported in a span of 24-hours, the information updated at eight am confirmed.
