Israeli fighter jets, assault helicopters and different warplanes late Monday struck Syrian army targets in southern Syria, a day after thwarting an assault within the Golan Heights, the Israeli military mentioned.
“The targets struck include observation posts and intelligence collection systems, anti-aircraft artillery facilities and command and control systems in SAF (Syrian Armed Forces) bases,” the military mentioned in assertion.
Syrian state media mentioned Syria had activated its air defences in opposition to “hostile targets” close to the capital Damascus.
The Israeli military mentioned earlier it had killed 4 males laying explosives late Sunday close to the Israeli-occupied sector of the Golan Heights, the newest safety incident on the tense northern borders.
The Israel Defence Forces confirmed the incident prompted the air strikes.

Tensions are already excessive between bitter rivals Israel and Syria.
