Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday urged Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to think about suspending NEET and JEE examinations in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

“As part of its strategy to combat COVID-19, Government of Jharkhand has not yet commenced public transport and neither has it permitted opening of hotels, restaurants etc. Thus the examinees and their guardians are likely to face serious logistic issues,” he stated.

While a complete of 15.97 lakh college students have registered for NEET, 9.53 lakh candidates have registered for JEE-Mains.
