Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis was on Sunday arrested for pulling down a pedestrian whereas driving, police stated. Mendis hit a 74-year-old man, killing him within the early hours on Sunday, within the Colombo suburb of Panadura. He is to be produced earlier than a Justice of the Peace afterward Sunday, police stated.
The 25-year-old wicket-keeper batsman has represented Sri Lanka in 44 Tests and 76 ODIs.

Mendis was a part of the nationwide squad which had resumed coaching after the COVID-19 lockdown.
Sri Lanka’s worldwide assignments, together with a tour by India, have been cancelled because of the pandemic.
