Visakhapatnam:
Police on Tuesday night time arrested the CEO and two administrators apart from eight different officers of LG Polymers in reference to the styrene vapour leak incident wherein 12 individuals have been killed and 585 fell sick
on May 7, Visakhapatnam police chief RK Meena instructed PTI.
The arrests have been made a day after the High-Power Committee, appointed by the state authorities to probe the vapour leak, submitted its report back to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The report blamed a number of inadequacies on a part of LG and slackness of administration over poor security protocols and complete breakdown of the emergency response procedures within the plant that resulted within the tragedy.
The police registered a case on May 7 in opposition to LG Polymers at R R Venkatapuram, beneath varied IPC Sections together with 278 (making environment noxious to well being).
Exactly two months later, the arrests have been made.
