The Mizoram authorities has postponed the opening of schools for the 2020-21 educational session for an indefinite period as a component of the containment measures to curb the coronavirus outbreak, a minister stated.
The authorities had earlier determined to open academic establishments for the present educational session from July 15.
“We would not be able to open schools during this month as the Union Ministry of Home Affairs directed all the states not to open educational and training institutes till July 31 due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country,” Mizoram schooling minister Lalchhandama Ralte stated on Friday.
The state authorities will take a choice on the matter contemplating the scenario, he stated.
Mizoram reported 162 COVID-19 circumstances until Friday. The state now has 35 energetic circumstances, whereas 127 sufferers have recovered from the illness.
Meanwhile, the class-12 board examinations suspended halfway as a result of coronavirus outbreak have been carried out efficiently, he stated.
