After the federal government ordered an inter-ministerial probe into alleged violations by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi accused the Modi authorities of making an attempt to intimidate ‘those that combat for the reality’.

As the Centre introduced a ministerial probe into the workings of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi hit again at the federal government in a powerful assertion, saying that those that communicate the reality can not be intimidated.

On Wednesday, the federal government arrange an inter-ministerial crew to coordinate a probe into the alleged violation of assorted legal guidelines like cash laundering and overseas contributions by three Nehru-Gandhi household linked trusts, together with the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF).

Now, Rahul Gandhi has commented on the event.

In a strongly-worded tweet, Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi authorities of making an attempt to intimidate ‘those that combat for the reality’.

Making a direct assault on PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Mr Modi believes the world is like him. He thinks everyone has a price or can be intimidated. He will never understand that those who fight for the truth have no price and cannot be intimidated.”

The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation was dragged into controversy amidst India-China tensions because the BJP alleged that the RGF had obtained funds from the Chinese Embassy beforehand.

The Ministry of Home Affair has now arrange an inter-ministerial committee to coordinate investigations into alleged violation of laws by three trusts linked to the Gandhi household.

The probe by the inter-ministerial crew will deal with the probe into alleged violation of authorized provisions by the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust, the Centre mentioned on Wednesday.
