Presidency University has printed results for each undergraduate and post-graduate programs, evaluating papers of the final semester by giving equal weightage to earlier performances and inner evaluation, Vice-Chancellor Anuradha Lohia stated on Saturday.
Presidency grew to become the second college in West Bengal to publish results amid the CIVID-19 pandemic after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
Results of Presidency University had been out on Friday, Lohia stated including that 50 per cent of whole marks had been based mostly on steady inner assessments and the remaining on dwelling task and initiatives and college students are glad.
A college official stated that 90 per cent of the final yr college students handed in each under-graduate and post- graduate ranges with over 70 per cent marks.
In the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus, the schooling division has determined to cancel the terminal semester examinations of all streams in state-run and aided universities.
On June 27, it issued an advisory suggesting that the colleges award 80 per cent weightage on the perfect mixture rating by a candidate in earlier semesters and 20 per cent on inner evaluation for analysis of final semester papers.
However, the division had no objection to Presidency’s choice to go for 50:50 ratio.
Every greater academic institute has the autonomy to resolve on it’s personal analysis course of relying on the scenario, an schooling division official stated.
The prompt 80:20 ratio would have affected results of the present semester of final yr college students and the union was in a position to negotiate it to 50:50, Presidency University Students Council stated in a press release.
“After the publication of results, it has been seen that most final year Graduation students and Post-graduation students have faired extremely well in this semester and have benefited from this negotiation,” it stated.
Earlier, MAKAUT had introduced results on July 20. All non-public engineering schools and administration colleges are affiliated to this college.
