Rajya Sabha at the moment bid farewell to 11 of its members who will retire in November this 12 months.
When the House met, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu talked about that 11 MPs from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will probably be retiring in November.
They embrace Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Samajwadi Party chief Ram Gopal Yadav, BSP’s Veer Singh and Raj Babbar of Congress.
Others who will retire are: Javed Ali Khan (SP), PL Punia (Congress), Rajaram (BSP), Neeraj Shekhar (BJP), Arun Singh (BJP), Ravi Prakash Verma (SP) and Chandrapal Singh Yadav (SP).
Venkaiah Naidu mentioned a number of the members will return to the House after re-election.
Today is probably going the final date of the present monsoon session after the federal government determined to curtail the 18-day session in view of the pandemic. The session that began on September 14 was to proceed until October 1.
Venkaiah Naidu requested retiring members in the event that they wished to talk.
None of the Samajwadi Party, BSP and Congress members had been current within the House due to the opposition boycott of the proceedings towards the suspension of eight MPs.
Neeraj Shekhar, who final 12 months converted from Samajwadi Party to BJP, mentioned he has been lucky to have been first elected to Lok Sabha after which to Rajya Sabha.
“As a kid, I used to come to Parliament House with my father (former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar) and we used to play in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha… There wasn’t much security in those days. Since then, I aspired to become an MP,” he mentioned.
Stating that bringing legislations that can change the way forward for youngsters needs to be a precedence, he mentioned he prays for a clear, educated, and robust nation.
“We will be missing you and other members retiring in November,” Chairman Venkaiah Naidu mentioned.
