Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued a press release saying that the two militants gunned down in Kulgam on Saturday had been found positive for the novel coronavirus. Samples taken from the our bodies of the militants following the encounter had been despatched for a medical examination that led to this improvement, the assertion added.
“It is further informed that while carrying out the medico-legal formalities, the samples of the killed terrorists were taken and sent for Covid-19 test. The test reports were received from CD Hospital Srinagar and both the killed terrorists were confirmed as coronavirus positive,” the J&Okay Police stated.
It went additional to say that the power has been burying militants killed in encounters at designated spots for the reason that outbreak of the pandemic. “Medico-legal formalities are strictly followed in respect of such killed terrorists which includes post-mortem, DNA and Covid-19 tests. The dead bodies of the said killed terrorists shall be buried as per Covid-19 protocol strictly at Baramulla”, stated the assertion.
Security forces had on July 4 gunned down two militants in Arrah space of J&K’s Kulgam district. The encounter was a joint operation between the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the J&Okay Police. Two troopers sustained accidents through the operation.
According to inputs, the encounter was prompted by intel which resulted in a cordon and search operation in Arrah. Militants opened fireplace upon recognizing safety forces which led to the encounter.
