Renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan died early on Friday morning due to cardiac arrest. She was 71.

The three-time National Award winner, who had choreographed among the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema, was not maintaining properly for a while. She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra final month after she complained of respiratory points.

In the 1950s, Saroj started working as a background dancer and received her first break as an unbiased choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974. In her profession spanning a number of a long time, she is credited with choreographing over 2000 songs, and received three National Awards.

Saroj Khan’s funeral held in Malad

Saroj’s funeral was held on Friday morning at a cemetery in suburban Malad. “We buried her at around 7 am. The prayer meeting will be held after three days,” her daughter Sukaina instructed PTI.
