Sensex, Nifty finish flat in lacklustre commerce
Benchmark indices closed flat on Thursday with Sensex closing 95 factors lower and Nifty settling with hardly any good points. Trade was largely range-bound for many a part of the session.
Sensex closed 95 factors or 0.2% lower at 38990. Titan, Maruti, Sun Pharma and IT shares had been the distinguished gainers. Axis Bank and ICICI Bank had been the principle laggards immediately. On the index, 13 shares gained and 17 declined. Vodafone Idea gained over 27%.
Nifty closed at 11,527 factors, largely unchanged from the earlier shut. On the index, 26 shares gained, whereas 24 declined. Nifty Auto and IT had been the most important sectoral gainers, whereas banks fell.
“The markets traded with lacklustre volumes with no definite direction. We continue being in a range between 11400-11600. If we need to see higher levels, we need to cross the resistance of 11600. That could take us to levels as high as 12000. A break of 11400 can take us to 11200-11250 levels,” stated Manish Hathiramani, proprietary index dealer and technical analyst, Deen Dayal Investments.
