The 2020-21 home season would have began with Vijay Hazare in late August adopted Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Last season’s Irani Cup was cancelled because of the announcement of Lockdown 1.
Asked about home cricket and junior cricket, Ganguly informed Sports Tak, “It is necessary, but it will happen only after coronavirus. When it is safe, only then, especially junior cricket.”
Ganguly reasoned that India was a big nation and groups wanted to journey from one place to a different for his or her matches and therefore home cricket will not begin until every part is secure.
