The variety of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir has lowered considerably after the scrapping of Article 370, i.e. after August 5, 2019, knowledgeable Minister Of State (MoS) Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy within the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Mr Reddy in a written reply acknowledged, “After August 5, 2019, the number of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir have reduced significantly.”
Giving the small print of the variety of terrorist incidents, the Minister acknowledged, Before August 5, 2019– from 29.06.2018 to 04.08.2019 (402 days) the variety of incidents 455. After August 5, 2019; from 05.08.2019 to 09.09.2020 (402 days) the variety of incidents 211.
Mr Reddy acknowledged, No main terror assault befell within the hinterland of the nation in the course of the interval from 05.08.2019 to 09.09.2020.
On the query of measures taken by the federal government to take care of the terrorist menace, Mr Reddy acknowledged, “The Government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and has taken various measures, such as strengthening of security apparatus, strict enforcement of the law against anti-national elements, intensified cordon and search operations to effectively deal with challenges posed by the terrorist organisations. Security forces keep a close watch on persons who attempt to provide support to terrorists and initiate action against them.”
