Istanbul:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appointed a brand new finance minister late Monday after accepting his son-in-law Berat Albayrak’s resignation, the official Anadolu information company reported.
Lutfi Elvan, head of parliament’s planning and budgetary committee, was named treasury and finance minister, the company mentioned.
The 58-year-old held a number of posts beneath the ruling AKP authorities, together with deputy prime minister and growth minister.
