An Air India Express flight from Dubai with 191 individuals onboard overshot the runway at Kozhikode airport on Friday amid wet circumstances and went down 35 toes right into a slope earlier than breaking apart into two items, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri mentioned.

Before him, the ministry mentioned in a press release that there have been 190 individuals onboard the plane — 174 passengers, 10 infants, 2 pilots and 4 cabin crew.
The ministry mentioned the Boeing 737 plane overshot the runway at 7.41 PM on Friday however no hearth was reported on the time of touchdown.
“As per the initial reports, rescue operations are on and passengers are being taken to the hospital for medical care,” the ministry famous.
The Air India Express is an entirely owned subsidiary of Air India and it has solely Boeing 737 plane in its fleet.
A spokesperson for the Air India Express mentioned that assist centres are being arrange at Sharjah and Dubai for affected individuals.
“We regret that there has been an incident regarding our aircraft VT GHK, operating IX 1344,” the spokesperson added.
