The West Bengal School Education department has requested headmasters of state-run academic establishments in regards to the proportion of students having digital devices of their respective colleges.
In a letter to all colleges, the department had requested them to submit the number or proportion of students having smartphones, tablets or laptop computer.

Headmaster of Jadavpur Vidyapith Parimal Bhattacharya stated on Wednesday that “70 per cent to 80 per cent of our students have smartphones and we have submitted the report to the department a few days back.” Bhattacharya stated for the remaining 20-30 per cent students his faculty is taking a number of steps like making ready audio clips of lectures that are despatched to a faculty WhatsApp group from the place the students not in possession of smartphone can hear and observe down the factors.
