A lady in Bahrain seen desecrating idols of Lord Ganesha in a video revealed on-line has been charged with intentional harm and publicly insulting a spiritual image.
The police stated on Sunday that the 54-year-old girl was summoned after the video on social media confirmed her “intentionally damaging a shop… and breaking religious idols” within the Juffair space within the capital Manama, in accordance with the inside ministry.
Shortly after, the general public prosecution issued an announcement saying the girl had admitted to desecrating the idols and was charged with a number of counts of felony harm and of insulting a spiritual image.
She will probably be tried in court docket, it added.

Khalid al-Khalifa, advisor to the king of Bahrain and former overseas minister, stated the girl’s actions have been unacceptable.

“Here, all religions, sects and people coexist.”
