Former Pakistan captain and chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has stated he’s shocked by Grant Flower’s allegations about Younis Khan and that the previous Zimbabwe batsman is doing so to stay within the media limelight.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has hit out at Grant Flower over the previous batting coach’s allegations that Younis Khan introduced a knife to his throat throughout certainly one of their excursions to Australia.
Inzamam stated he has recognized Younis for a very long time and that the latter just isn’t a one who can ‘show a knife to anybody’. Inzamam blasted Flower, saying he’s shocked to hear his allegations and he’s claiming so to be within the media limelight.
“I just can’t believe what Grant has been saying. I played with Younis for a long time and I know him very well. Younis is someone who can never show a knife to anyone, ” Inzamam instructed Dawn.
“I am surprised why Grant is speaking about it now. I think sometimes an individual wants to remain in the media limelight.
“Imagine such claims after greater than three years haven’t any worth. Further, I never heard such an incident whereas I used to be the chief selector. To me, this assertion has no worth.”
Inzamam’s comments come after Flower, who worked as Pakistan’s batting coach from 2014 to 2019, said Younis was ‘quite tough to master’ and that he had brought a knife to his throat when he tried advising the former Pakistan batsman.
“I keep in mind one incident in Brisbane, through the Test, at breakfast, I attempted to give him a little bit of batting recommendation … But he did not take kindly to my recommendation and introduced a knife to my throat, with Mickey Arthur sitting alongside, who had to intervene,” Flower had told ‘Following On Cricket Podcast’ when asked about tricky characters he had worked with.
“Yeah, it has been attention-grabbing. But that is a part of teaching. It makes it a hell of a journey, and I’ve actually loved it. I’ve nonetheless received a lot to be taught, however I’m very lucky to be within the place I’m.”
Younis, who had amassed 10,099 Test runs and 7249 ODI runs in his celebrated career, has taken over as the batting coach of Pakistan cricket team. Younis is currently in England wherein Pakistan are training in quarantine for the much-anticipated Test and T20I series in August-September.
