First Batch Of Rafales For India Flies Out Of France

The Indian ambassador to France interacted with the Indian pilots of the Rafale jets.

New Delhi:

The first batch of 5 Rafale jets has flown out of France as we speak and can arrive in India on Wednesday, July 29, when the fighter jets will formally be inducted and be a part of the Indian Air Force fleet in Haryana’s Ambala.

The 5 plane would be the first tranche of the 36 planes purchased by India from France in an inter-governmental deal in 2016.

The plane will probably be refuelled mid-air and on land at French airbase within the United Arab Emirates on their strategy to India.

“Bon Voyage: Indian Ambassador to #France interacts with the Indian pilots of the Rafale. Congratulates and wishes them a safe flight to India with a single hop,” the Indian embassy in France tweeted.
