Man Arrested With Drugs Worth Around Rs 1 Crore In Haryana: Police

Sleuths of the Haryana Special Task Force on Monday arrested a person allegedly with 35 kg of charas and 5-kg opium being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh in a jeep, an official stated.

The restoration was made close to the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal toll plaza in Sonipat district by a Hisar STF group, a Haryana Police spokesperson stated, including that the seized drug price round Rs 1 crore on the worldwide market.

On receiving info on this regard, the STF group laid a lure. It signalled the jeep to cease close to the toll plaza for checking. The inspection of the car led to the seizure of 35 kg of charas and 5 kg of opium, the spokesperson stated.

The accused has been recognized as Vijay, a resident of Bhawar, Sonipat.

During preliminary interrogation, it was discovered that the accused had introduced the contraband from Uttar Pradesh, he stated.

A case beneath the NDPS Act has been registered in opposition to the accused on the Rai police station in Sonipat, he added.
