55-year-old Alok Mohanty stated his fascination for gold, coupled with media reviews on Pune businessman with a customized gold masks value Rs 2.89 lakh, impressed him to contact jewellers in Mumbai and get one made for himself.
“After I saw a man in Mumbai making gold masks, I decided to get one for myself too. I contacted a jeweller of Zaveri Bazar, Mumbai with the proposal to prepare a mask of gold and the latter agreed,” he advised ANI.
Mr Mohanty, who owns a furnishings retailer in Odisha’s Cuttack, stated an N-95 masks has been used as the bottom for manufacturing the gold protecting gear which weighs round 100 grams and prices Rs 3.5 lakh, reported PTI.
Elastic bands, hooked up to the gold masks, make it comfy to put on and supplies a safe match, he stated.
The Mumbai jeweller who made the masks took 22 days to make it after Mr Mohanty positioned an order.
Alok Mohanty, popularly often known as the Gold Man, can also be a social activist. He has been distributing meals and different important gadgets to the needy to assist them address the coronavirus pandemic, he advised PTI.
