Amid rigidity with China, the federal government immediately stated it could blacklist sure telecom tools distributors and designate firms as “India Trusted Source”.

The determination was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Security to “enhance security of telecom sector” by designating a trusted supply, stated Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

The determination comes days after the federal government banned a number of Chinese cellular apps for actions “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.
The apps had been banned below Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology stated immediately.
