The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has introduced that it has accepted the proposal to make sure geographical and gender illustration on the BWF Council. BWF stated that this falls according to the advice of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to focus on 30 % of gender illustration in decision-making positions inside International Federations (IFs) by 2020.

“The virtual AGM today has allowed us to complete our governance requirements to host our AGM every year before July 31, but also to deliver some important decisions to ensure we continuously improve our governance practice over time. Our focus on good governance is essential for the BWF and we continue to excel in this area,” he added.
