The Union Cabinet on Wednesday authorised growth of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes for city migrants and poor as a sub-scheme beneath the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, the federal government mentioned.
As a part of the scheme, current vacant government-funded housing complexes can be transformed into Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC).
An expenditure of Rs 600 crore is estimated within the type of “technology innovation grant”, an official spokesperson mentioned on Twitter after the Cabinet assembly.
He mentioned three lakh beneficiaries can be coated initially. The complexes will revert to city native our bodies (ULBs) after 25 years to restart the subsequent cycle.
