The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has referred to as a gathering with all managing administrators of metro rail companies on September 1 to finalise the usual working procedures (SOPs) for the functioning of metro trains allowed beneath the Unlockfour pointers, an official stated.
There are 17 metro companies within the nation. Once the detailed SOPs are issued by the ministry, they will concern their particulars protecting in thoughts native necessities, the official.
The SOPs already circulated with all metro companies can be mentioned on September 1 by way of video conferencing, the official stated.
“All managing directors have been asked to look into the SOP prepared by MOHUA earlier because of the current realities. All suggestions will be considered in the meeting and accordingly, SOP will be finalised,” the official added.
According to a different official, “The Union Housing and Urban Affairs ministry will reconsider its earlier prepared SOP given the current situation and issue fresh SOP soon.”
The Union Home Ministry issued the Unlock four pointers on Saturday beneath which metro trains can be allowed to renew companies from September 7 in a graded method.
Officials stated that sporting a masks and social distancing norms can be strictly adopted as soon as metro trains begin working.
Metro passengers can be inspired to comply with anti-COVID-19 measures, they stated, including fines can be imposed on these violating the rules.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation stated it’ll resume companies for the general public from September 7 in a calibrated method.
Taking to Twitter, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated he was “glad” that the metro will resume operations in a phased method.
