As farmers intensify their protest in opposition to the Centre’s three farm legal guidelines, Union Minister Kailash Choudhary on Sunday stated the federal government will quickly resolve a date and name union leaders for the following spherical of talks.
Previous 5 rounds of talks between the central authorities and representatives of 40 farmer unions remained inconclusive.
The sixth spherical of talks didn’t happen after farmer leaders rejected the federal government’s draft proposal to amend sure provisions of the farm legal guidelines and declined to take part within the assembly.
The authorities has made it clear that it’s prepared for dialogue anytime. But the farmer unions have stated they’d come for talks provided that the legal guidelines are repealed.
Asked when the federal government will maintain the following spherical of assembly, Mr Choudhary instructed PTI, “The meeting will be called soon. We are ready for discussion. But the date has not been finalised.”
The authorities will discover “some solution” to finish the impasse. “We have full confidence. In the next meeting, the issue will be resolved,” he famous.
Mr Choudhary, the Minister of State for Agriculture, stated senior ministers Amit Shah and Narendra Singh Tomar are holding discussions on the problem.
Farmers, particularly from Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting at Delhi borders in opposition to the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.
Enacted in September, the three farm legal guidelines have been projected by the central authorities as main reforms within the agriculture sector that can take away the middlemen and permit farmers to promote wherever within the nation.
However, the protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that the brand new legal guidelines would pave the way in which for eliminating the security cushion of Minimum Support Price and dispose of the mandis, leaving them on the mercy of huge corporates.
