The husband of an assistant sub-inspector of Punjab police was robbed of Rs 7.50 lakh together with two cellphones in his possession by a bunch of males in Punjab’s Phagwara, police mentioned on Thursday.
The incident came about on Wednesday night time on National Highway 1 when Harinderjit Singh was returning in his automobile together with two relations from Nabha, mentioned police.
Incidentally, Harinderjit’s spouse Rajwinder Kaur is an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police in Hoshiarpur district.
In his grievance, he mentioned some 10-12 males intercepted his automobile that when he was close to Jamalpur village.
They thrashed him and decamped with Rs 7.50 lakh money and two cellphones, police mentioned.
The group blamed him for hitting their automobile, the complainant said.
Police official Onkar Singh Brar mentioned a case was registered underneath related sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigations have been underway.
