Haryana’s Excise Department collected practically Rs 75 crore as ”COVID Cess” on liquor gross sales throughout the three-month interval starting mid-May, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala stated on Thursday.

Reacting to allegations of a liquor rip-off being levelled by the opposition, Mr Chautala stated had there been a rip-off, the Excise Department wouldn’t have made such a excessive income assortment. This “reflects that there is no scam”, he stated.
Mr Chautala stated GPS monitoring system could be put in in automobiles popping out of the distilleries within the state, and a committee has been constituted for this goal. The committee can be observing the practices in different states, he added.
