Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s well being situation deteriorated with multi-organ failure and he has turn out to be unconscious with issue in respiratory, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated.

“Around afternoon today, his condition deteriorated with difficulties in breathing. So, doctors started an intubation ventilator, which is machine ventilation,” stated Mr Sarma, who rushed to the GMCH to inquire Mr Gogoi’s well being.
Tarun Gogoi is “completely unconscious” and has suffered from multi-organ failure, the minister added.
“Efforts are on to revive his organs with medicines and other means. The doctors will also attempt a dialysis. However, the next 48-72 hours are very critical and we are doing everything possible,” he stated.
Mr Sarma stated docs of GMCH are in fixed contact with specialists from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi and dominated out any chance of shifting him to exterior the state on this situation.
“We are regularly updating the family and every decision is being taken with their consent only,” he added.
